Navigating the digital Landscape: The future of information science education

Abstract
The digital age has transformed how information is
created, disseminated, and consumed. Information science education must adapt
to equip individuals with the skills to navigate this complex landscape. This
paper explores the evolution of information science education, highlighting key
challenges and opportunities. It discusses the importance of critical thinking,
digital literacy, and information evaluation in the digital age. The paper
argues that information enables individuals to effectively locate, evaluate,
and utilise information in a rapidly changing digital environment. By reorienting
curricula and pedagogies, information science education can empower individuals
to make informed decisions and thrive in the digital age.
